Undergraduate students may request assistance with research questions at the library service desk or virtually via MS Teams.
Library staff is available to help you with:
On-Campus Research Assistance
Go to the library service desk located on the 3rd floor of the Student Center to request research assistance. A library staff member will work with you at the Research Assistance/Instructional computer.
There is no need to schedule an appointment with a librarian while on campus during normal library operating hours.
Off-Campus (Remote) Research Assistance
Schedule a meeting with a library staff member through Microsoft Teams. Library staff can work with you to setup a time convenient to you during our remote hours of operation.
During the meeting, library staff will share their computer screen as they explore the library's electronic resources.
All UNT Dallas users have access to MS Teams through their Office 365 institutional email account. Either the online or desktop version of MS Teams may be used.
The UNT Dallas Library includes a growing collection of circulating books and media (DVD and VHS) that may be borrowed. Users may search and place holds on items using the library catalog.
Item Checkout
Graduate students may borrow most circulating books for 120 days and media items for one week. Items borrowed may be subject to recall. Any item recalled should be returned to the library within a seven day period.
Renewing Items
Borrowed items may be renewed either in person or online through your personal library account. Users may not renew items if they have library fines, overdue items, or if the item is on hold for another user.
Returning Items
Checked out items may be returned to the library service desk located on the 3rd floor of the Student Center during library operating hours. Please contact the library through email or phone if you need assistance with returning items to the library.
Paying Fines
Please contact the library either by email or phone if you have a question about a fine on your library account.
Library Printer
The library photocopy machine allows users to print or release print jobs by entering their EUID/password or by scanning your student ID badge.
Library Digital Scanner
The library digital scanner is located at the library service desk. You may have PDF files of book scans sent to you as an email attachment to your UNT Dallas email address or transferred to your Microsoft One Drive account.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to copyright restrictions, only a limited number of pages/chapters may be scanned of any book. However, there are no limitations on using the scanner to scan your personal notes. For more information, please consult the Copyright Notice below.
Textbook course reserves are a collection of textbooks and media items that may be borrowed for a short period of time and must remain on campus.
The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17 U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies or reproductions of copyrighted material. Anyone using the library digital scanner, printer, or personal scanning devices (ex. phones, tablets) is liable for any infringement.
