TexShare Policy

Using a TexShare Card

UNT Dallas users may borrow items from participating TexShare libraries. Users must follow the rules set by the lending library. Items must be checked out and returned to the lending library. Users are responsible for any fees, or replacement costs set by the lending library.

TexShare card holders from other libraries may setup an account to borrow general circulating, non-restricted items from the UNT Dallas Library. TexShare card holders must present their TexShare card, home library card, and a photo identification card to setup an account. TexShare card holders must present their TexShare card and photo identification when checking out items from the UNT Dallas Library. Account setup, check-out, and return of items must occur at the UNT Dallas Library service desk.

Loan Policies

TexShare card holders may checkout a maximum of 5 circulating books. Checked out books may be borrowed for a three-week loan period. TexShare card holders’ circulation privileges are suspended if they have any overdue items, fines, or have incurred any fees at the UNT Dallas Library or at other participating TexShare libraries.

Items may be renewed once. Books may be renewed for three additional weeks. Items may be renewed at the library service desk or by calling 972-338-1616. Renewals will not be allowed within 30 days of the TexShare Card expiration date. Recalled items may not be renewed.

Restrictions and Limitations

TexShare card holders may not access UNT Dallas Library electronic resources, non-circulation items, or items in the reserve text-book collection.

Non-circulating Items

Reference books, media materials and items placed on reserve may not be checked out by Texshare card holders.
