Donations to the UNT Dallas Library

Gifts or donations must meet the Library's Collection Development Policy.

Acceptable items:

  • Books must be relevant to the UNT Dallas curriculum and/or support the teaching, research, and service needs of students and faculty.
  • Textbooks or course-related books not older than 3 years.
  • Non fiction books and media materials must be relevant to UNT Dallas course curricula. Please contact the University Librarian.
  • Items must be in new or like new condition.

Items not accepted:

  • Items in poor physical condition (i.e. brittle paper, water damage, writing or highlighting on the pages, torn and/or missing pages, mold etc.)
  • Newspapers, magazines, print periodicals or journals*

*A great number of journals are available through the Library's electronic resources. Print journal collections require large amounts of space and are infrequently used; therefore, large donations are not accepted.

Special Collections:

  • Personal papers, archival materials and other special collections are typically not included in the library's collection policy, unless they serve a unique purpose to support the current curricula. Please contact the University Librarian

Upon acceptance, donors must complete and sign the donation form to provide a list of the items donated and to transfer ownership to the UNT Dallas Library. Please feel free to contact the Library at 972-338-1616 or library@untdallas.edu.
