Gifts or donations must meet the Library's Collection Development Policy.
Acceptable items:
- Books must be relevant to the UNT Dallas curriculum and/or support the teaching, research, and service needs of students and faculty.
- Textbooks or course-related books not older than 3 years.
- Non fiction books and media materials must be relevant to UNT Dallas course curricula. Please contact the University Librarian.
- Items must be in new or like new condition.
Items not accepted:
- Items in poor physical condition (i.e. brittle paper, water damage, writing or highlighting on the pages, torn and/or missing pages, mold etc.)
- Newspapers, magazines, print periodicals or journals*
*A great number of journals are available through the Library's electronic resources. Print journal collections require large amounts of space and are infrequently used; therefore, large donations are not accepted.
Special Collections:
- Personal papers, archival materials and other special collections are typically not included in the library's collection policy, unless they serve a unique purpose to support the current curricula. Please contact the University Librarian.
Upon acceptance, donors must complete and sign the donation form to provide a list of the items donated and to transfer ownership to the UNT Dallas Library. Please feel free to contact the Library at 972-338-1616 or library@untdallas.edu.
