How to Create a Permalink

This guide shows how to create permalinks to online resources in the UNT Dallas Library databases.

UNT Dallas Library - General Information

What are Permalinks

Permalinks (also called persistent links, persistent URLs, permanent URLs, and stable URLs) are links that can be used to return to an item (ebook, journal article, or other library resources) found while searching library databases. Permalinks can also be used to share items found in library databases with others.

Why Use Permalinks

If you need a link to an item found while searching a library database. You will need to create a permalink. You cannot use the URL found at the top of your web browser, because this link will no longer be accessible after your search session ends or you log out.

Permalinks are provided by databases to allow access to items after your search session ends.
